On Friday, October 16, some of our first graders went on a field trip to the Mission House Museum.  They got to see how life was like back in the 1800s, from the way the houses were to the types of clothes they wore and even the types of games they played.  They were able to compare their lives to the lives of the children of that era by seeing what it would have been like to live back then.  Here, a docent is showing the students a game children back then used to play, called hoop-and-stick.

The docent is demonstrating how to play hoop-and-stick.
Mr. Mike shows the students an old printing press that was used to make newspapers.

Students get to try out the printing press to see how hard it is to print one sheet of newspaper.
