As the second quarter winds down, we offer a preview of our BOQ for the third quarter: GRIT & Bear It! by Tamara Zentic, M.S.
GRIT stands for Generating Relentless Inner Toughness, and this book helps children to persevere in the midst of a challenge. Here are a few tips from the book to help your child develop GRIT:
- Start when children are young.
- Children need to believe that through hard work, they can get better.
- Applaud effort as well as the end result.
- Help children see their mistakes and failures as opportunities to progress.
- Set a good example and work together--your own work ethic speaks volumes to children about your own GRIT!
