This week's FFV snack is cantaloupe! Cantaloupe is the most popular variety of melon in North America. China produces nearly one half of all the world's cantaloupes. Cantaloupes like warm weather, so they are often grown for the first 14 or so days indoors before being moved outdoors. The netting on the outer rind unfortunately traps a lot of bacteria, so always make sure you wash cantaloupe thoroughly before cutting and eating.
