We are implementing a new program called Second Step, which has a Social-Emotional Learning curriculum that teaches students important skills that they need throughout their lives, such as how to manage their emotions and behavior, how to get along with their peers, and how to solve problems peacefully. These skills are critical as they can help them in school now as well as in the future, at their workplace and out in society.

Here some first graders are being introduced to the lessons by our counselor, Mrs. Foster. The curriculum is engaging for the students with songs, scenarios, and even puppetry! The students are very excited to participate in the lessons and learn these lifelong skills.
