This week we have plums for our FFV snack.


Plums belong to the same family as peaches, apricots, and nectarines. There are over 2,000 different varieties! They are an excellent source of vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, and they contain the minerals potassium, fluoride, phosphorous, magnesium, iron, calcium, and zinc. Plums provide relief from indigestion, the flu, and anxiety-related problems. The antioxidants in plums helps treat osteoporosis, macular degeneration, cancer, diabetes, and obesity. They also help maintain healthy levels of cholesterol and aids in skin care and blood clotting.
