This week we have "grape-ful melon" bowls (fruit salad containing honeydew, cantaloupe, grapes, and strawberries) and snap peas for our FFV snacks!

Snap peas are like other peas in that they are pod fruit, but snap peas have edible pods. The pods of snap peas are less fibrous and do not open up when they are ripe. There are approximately 3 to 8 peas in a pod. Snap peas are good for those trying to lose weight, as they contain only 35 calories per cup. They are good to add to salads, pasta, and stir-fry meals as the fiber in them makes one feel full faster. Snap peas are rich in vitamins C and K, and in some of the B-complex vitamins. They contain iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, and are rich in antioxidants.
