Our Fresh Fruit & Vegetable snack this week is zucchini!

Did you know that zucchini is a member of the squash family? It is a summer squash that is also known as courgette. They can grow to be up to a meter long, but they are usually harvested while they are young. They are usually cooked and used in savory dishes, treated as a vegetable, but zucchini are actually fruit, biologically-speaking. Zucchini originally came from the Americas but was grown a lot in northern Italy, which is where it got its name.
