We had asian pears for our FFVP snack this week.


Asian pears are grown throughout east Asia, and even in India, Australia, New Zealand, and California. These fruits are not used for pies or jams because they have a high water content and a grainy texture. Because of this high water content, they bruise easily, so pears are often sold in stores all wrapped up. They can last for several weeks in a cold, dry place.
