This week's snack for our FFVP is starfruit!

Starfruit, also known as carambola, is native to Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and Seychelles. It is a popular fruit throughout Southeast Asia, Micronesia, and parts of East Asia. It has ridges down the sides that gives it a star shape when the fruit is cut open. The entire fruit is edible and is often used to make relishes, preserves, and juice drinks. Starfruit is rich in antioxidants, potassium, and vitamin C, and is low in sugar, sodium, and acid.
