The second graders went on a field trip to Tenney Theater to see HTY's play, Filipino Folktales & Fables, by Alvin Chan and the HTY Ensemble. The play is a celebration of the many rich cultural traditions of the Philippines, combining music, dance, design, and story to illuminate one of the largest and most important communities in Hawai'i. These traditional stories offer wise and humorous solutions to everything from standing up to bullies to outwitting the sky.
