The dark flesh of the blood orange makes it an appropriate snack during this week of Halloween, but don't let the color deter you! The fruit still tastes like oranges, although some think it's a bit sweeter, like raspberries. The blood orange originated in the Mediterranean, where the cold nights help give its flesh the dark red color.
