Tonight we had our second AVID Parent Night. We tackled a real problem that we have in our community: there are a lot of micro-plastics in our ocean, which is harmful to the aquatic animals. The task was to design something to sift the micro-plastics out of the sand. After watching a video, families went through the design process to plan and build their prototype. They got a chance to test it out and rebuild if necessary.
