Today we had grapes as our FFVP snack.


Grapes are a good source of fiber and water, and like other fruits and vegetables, have been linked to a reduced risk of health complications such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Red grapes are slightly better than green grapes, as their skins contain an antioxidant that protects against several chronic diseases and conditions. Just be careful! Grapes are known as on the list of the "Dirty Dozen," which are fruits and vegetables that have the highest levels of pesticide residue. Make sure you wash grapes thoroughly or buy organic grapes to reduce the exposure to the pesticides.
