Fifth graders got a little taste of pumpkin purée. Not many students thought it was delicious until they added some spices and made a no-bake pumpkin pie. They discussed how explorers traveled to different continents to get different spices. In partnerships, they went through the engineering process to create a ship to get them across the ocean from Europe to North America.
