School Closure Breakfast and Lunch Program for DOE and Public Charter Schools

Aloha, Leihōkū families:

We hope this message finds you and your families well during this COVID-19 emergency in Hawaiʻi. We realize that the necessary closure of our schools will cause a disruption to our services, so to help alleviate the current situation, our school cafeterias at Waiʻanae High, Waiʻanae Intermediate, Māʻili Elementary, Nānākuli High and Intermediate, and Nānāikapono Elementary will provide prepared breakfasts and lunches for our children starting from Wednesday, March 25th. Leihōkū will not be providing breakfasts and lunches for distribution as we do not have a kitchen in our cafeteria that prepares food (we have a serving kitchen). You are welcomed to join one of the other sites mentioned above.

During the school closure period, the identified cafeterias will be providing breakfast and lunch for any student on the coast, 18 years and under, using a “drive-thru” pick up system. Breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:00 am. Lunch will be served from 11:30-12:00 pm. One meal per child will be distributed, and the child/children must be present in the car to be served a meal based on federal guidelines.

AS A REMINDER: THERE WILL BE NO MEAL SERVICE ON THURSDAY, MARCH 26, PRINCE KŪHIŌ DAY.

Thank you.
