The Vision Bus, run by Project Vision Hawaii, is a part of the Vision To Learn program, which strives to provide free eye exams and eyeglasses to those who need them. Project Vision Hawaii was established to catch retinal diseases early in populations with high diabetes rates. They have a mobile retina screening unit which they use to conduct a vision screening and take bilateral retina images. They are able to check for any degeneration and refer students to get medical help if needed. Students in grades K, 1, 3, and 5 were screened and given glasses if needed.
