Our FFVP snack this week is mango.


Did you know that mangoes are in the same family as cashews? They are native to South Asia, where many are found growing in the wild. It is the national fruit of India, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Mangoes help boost immunity and are good for lowering cholesterol and improving digestion. Be careful, though! Some individuals, especially those sensitive to poison ivy, can develop dermatitis after coming in contact with the oil of the mango leaves, stems, sap, and skin.
